CPU cooling - A CPU generates heat while operating. In operation the temperature of the CPU will thus rise until the temperature gradient between the CPU and its surroundings is such that the heat flow matches the input and the CPU temperature reaches equilibrium.
CPU locking - CPU locking is the process of permanently setting a CPU's clock multiplier. AMD CPUs are unlocked in early editions of a model and locked in later editions, but nearly all Intel CPUs are locked and recent models are very resistant to unlocking to prevent fraudulent CPU speed claims by resellers.
CPU core voltage - The CPU core voltage (VCore) is the power supply voltage supplied to the CPU (which is a digital circuit). The amount of power a CPU uses, and thus the amount of heat it dissipates, is the product of this voltage and the current it draws.
CPU socket - The CPU socket or slot is the connector that interfaces between a computer's motherboard and the processor itself. Most CPU sockets and processors in use today are built around the pin grid array (PGA) architecture, in which the pins on the underside of the processor are inserted into the socket, usually with zero insertion force (ZIF) to aid installation.
The Freedom CPU - F-CPU, mainly dedicated to pure SIMD superpipelined 64-bit RISC CPU, and the sources. Open Source, GPL.
MSL16 Processor - Minimal instruction set, small, low power 16-bit CPU optimized to run Forth on a Xilinx FPGA. When system is stable, VHDL source code for CPU and all other code will be released to make a full open source public domain CPU.
