Historical archaeology - Historical archaeology is a branch of archaeology that concerns itself with "historical" societies, i.e.

Australian archaeology - Australian Archaeology is a large sub-field in the discipline of Archaeology. The focus of archaeology in Australia largely takes two forms, Aboriginal Archaeology (the archaeology of Aborigines and Australia before European Settlement) and Historical Archaeology (the archaeology of Australia after European Settlement).

Experimental archaeology - Experimental archaeology employs a number of different methods, techniques, analyses, and approaches in order to generate and test hypotheses or an interpretation, based upon archaeological source material, like ancient structures or artifacts. It should not be confused with primitive technology which is not concerned with any archaeological or historical evidence, living history or historical reenactment, which is generally undertaken as a hobby, for entertainment or to demonstrate a romantic atmosphere of a specific (pre)historic era.

Post-medieval archaeology - Post-medieval archaeology is term used in Europe to describe the study of the material past over the last 500 years. In other areas it may be known as Historical archaeology and Industrial archaeology is one of its sub-disciplines.
